Decade Awards Presented
Nine high school students across the province were honoured - and surprised - at their graduation ceremonies. They each won a $10,000 scholarship from the Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation NSHRF . One scholarship was presented to a student in each of the nine school districts, and a province-wide award of an additional $10,000 was awarded to Kurtis Turnbull, a graduate of Pictou Academy.

The purpose of the suite of Knowledge Programs is to support systematic approaches to integrating the best evidence available to support informed decision-making. Celebrating our 10th Birthday in 2010
Throughout 2010 NSHRF will be engaged in a number of activities to celebrate our 10th year of leading and succeeding.
Congratulations to the Recipients of the Decade Award
This award (one time only) was offered by the Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation (NSHRF) to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Foundation. The award was being offered to 10 graduating grade 12 students who will be attending a Nova Scotia university or community college. For more information and to view the recipients, please click here
Congratulations to the Recipients of the 2010 NSHRF/NSCAD University Art Competition Award
By developing a fuller understanding of the integration of art and science, this competition raised awareness of the elements that contribute to excellence in scientific and health research. NSHRF awarded (for a total of three) of $5000, $3000 and $2000 for NSCAD full-time students. The successful artworks will be displayed in the NSHRFoffices. Maritime Access & Privacy Workshop 2010
The Provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, as well as the Office of the Ombudsman of New Brunswick, the Nova Scotia Review Office, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of PEI, and the Halifax Regional Municipality are proud to present the 6th Annual Maritime Access & Privacy Workshop. This workshop is a great opportunity to meet, network and share ideas with colleagues from the access and privacy community across the Maritime Provinces. NSHRF Announces the Results of the 2009-10 Competitive Capacity Grants

The purpose of the competitive Capacity Program is to create and support a vibrant and productive health research environment in Nova Scotia. Strategy on Patient-Oriented Research Document and Survey
This discussion paper drafted by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) proposes a following nationwide Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research as a broad outline for consultation.
Canadian Institutes of Health Research has commissioned Harris/Decima to conduct a national consultation on the Strategy on Patient-Oriented Research. The survey is brief and will only take 10 minutes to complete and all responses will be confidential.
