Institute for Applied Health Research and Design
Please Note: The Institute for Applied Health Research and Design will not be offered in 2009-10.
The purpose of the Institute is to support early career health researchers or clinicians new to health research (junior faculty members, post-doctoral fellows and senior PhD students) with an opportunity to build their grant writing skills. Participants arrive at the Institute with an overview of a project proposal, and spend several days in an intensive hands-on exploration of research methods, design and dissemination led by experienced and accomplished researchers. One-on-one time with senior researchers, workshops, and a group peer review exercise all contribute to a unique and valuable professional development experience.
Participants leave the Institute with peer feedback and expert advice to help them revise their project proposal. Ultimately, the goal is to improve the quality of health research proposals and increase participant’s potential for funding in research competitions.
