Consultation Process

The consultation process for the Mental Health and Addictions Strategy is now complete. The consultation process took place between January – May 2011 and had two overarching principles: the need to integrate evidence into the process and extensive consultation with stakeholders. Nova Scotian’s were able to take part through targeted consultations, open consultations, an Online Consultation, and a Consultation Questionnaire.

We would like to thank all of those who took the time to provide information and who consulted with us and the Mental Health and Addictions Strategy Advisory Committee. The feedback was invaluable for developing the Strategy. We consulted with over 100 individuals/groups/organizations representing over 1,200 Nova Scotians.

In addition to these consultations we received written submissions and had information meetings with a variety of stakeholders. All of the information provided through the consultations, written submissions and information meetings was considered by the Advisory Committee in the development of their recommendations.
