Competitive Collaborative Grants
Through our priority identification process conducted in 2009-10 we identified the need to create a collaborative team based grant that would be based on our new priorities. We are pleased to partner with Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR) for the Innovation Team Grants: Community-Based Primary Healthcare (CBPHC) funding opportunity. The CBPHC funding opportunity will provide support for teams undertaking programmatic, cross-jurisdictional and interdisciplinary research to develop, implement, evaluate and compare innovative models for chronic disease prevention and management in CBPHC and improving access to appropriate CBPHC for vulnerable populations.
You can learn more about the full funding opportunity and how to apply visit the CIHR website.

Recently released by CIHR in relation to Collaboration with Australia and New Zealand on CBPHC Team Grants:
Clarification on Collaboration with Australia and New-Zealand for Community-based Primary Healthcare (CBPHC) Team Grants
We have heard concerns raised from members of the research community in regards to requests for additional funds from Australia and New Zealand as part of the CBPHC Team Grant Funding Opportunity. We have carefully considered our approach to the allocation of funds in order to ensure the success of the competition.
At the Letter of Intent (LOI) Phase, a budget is not required. Therefore, the teams are not required at this stage to indicate what levels of funds they are requesting; however, the LOI should list intended team members accordingly. Should your team be invited to the full application phase and wish to request funds from Australia or New Zealand as part of the CBPHC Team Grant Funding Opportunity, in addition to Canadian funding, then two budgets will need to be provided detailing the Canadian and Australian or New Zealand components.
The top (highest ranked) team in each targeted pool and the top teams in the general pool will receive funding. The top team that has included a request for Australian or New Zealand funding through the CBPHC Team Grant Funding Opportunity will receive the funds from Australia or New Zealand in addition to the Canadian dollars. Teams not receiving Australian or New Zealand dollars, but still top ranked in one of the targeted pools or the general pool, will still be eligible for Canadian funding.
