February 11, 2008

Description

Knowledge Transfer and Exchange (KT&E) is an increasingly important aspect of our professional activities and is essential to informed decision making. The workshop examined the field of KT&E and explored ways to bridge the conceptual and practical knowledge gaps. Key stakeholders involved in academic, research, government health policy and clinical settings met to explore their environments and how they work.

Participants examined how they currently access, develop, use, incorporate and share knowledge, and how KT&E can be enhanced within and among these different settings. The objectives of the workshop were:

For participants to have gained a(n)

  1. greater knowledge of the environments in which various professionals work;
  2. increased understanding of the importance and process of KT&E; and
  3. awareness of the challenges to and enablers of effective KT&E.
